At FINE we are constantly seeking ways to include students into our operations, no matter their degree program. Our commitment to providing opportunities for as many students as possible leads us to constantly consider new roles that may not have existed in associations before.

Below you can read more about the roles we have available for the Spring and Summer of 2026.

Vappu Olympics Roles

  • What you’ll do
    Bring the games to life by narrating the action for the crowd and livestream viewers. You’ll keep the energy high, explain what’s happening, and spotlight fun moments.

    Responsibilities

    • Deliver live streamed play-by-play commentary during games and activities

    • Explain rules briefly for newcomers and viewers

    • Coordinate with the Media Team on mic/stream timing and highlight moments

    Good fit if you are

    • Comfortable speaking live and reacting quickly

    • Interested in media, storytelling, or sports/community events

    Time commitment

    • 1 activity per day, for at least two Vappu Olympics days

  • What you’ll do
    Keep competitions fair, smooth, and on schedule by applying rules consistently and helping prevent disputes.

    Responsibilities

    • Learn and apply the rules for assigned games/activities

    • Make clear calls and keep matches moving

    • Support sportsmanship and escalate bigger issues to the Event Lead

    Good fit if you are

    • Confident making decisions under pressure

    • Detail-oriented and calm in fast-paced environments

    Time commitment

    • 1 referee shifts for at least two Vappu day

  • What you’ll do
    Be responsible for one activity station across two Vappu days. You’ll guide participants, explain rules, keep flow moving, and help create an unforgettable experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Run one activity station from start to finish (setup, instructions, flow, wrap-up)

    • Welcome participants and keep the activity fun, fair, and on schedule

    • Track basic station info if requested (approx. participants, timing, issues) and communicate with the Event Lead

    Good fit if you are

    • Confident talking to groups and giving simple instructions

    • Organized, responsible, and calm in busy environments

    Time commitment

    • 2 shifts total (same activity, two separate Vappu days), typically 2–4 hours per shift

FINE Players Roles

  • What you’ll do
    Create the soundtrack of Vappu Olympics. You’ll build playlists that match each activity’s vibe and keep energy flowing throughout the day.

    Responsibilities

    • Create playlists for warm-up, peak competition, and cooldown moments

    • Adapt music to different activity areas and crowd energy

    • Follow venue/event guidelines (appropriate content and volume awareness)

    Good fit if you are

    • Into music, event atmosphere, or community experience design

    • Organized and good at reading the room

    Time commitment

    • 6-8 hours prep (playlist building) + optional on-site support shifts

  • What you’ll do
    Help showcase FINE’s welcoming culture by bringing your pet to approved pet-friendly moments and supporting positive community content.

    Responsibilities

    • Bring your pet to approved pet-friendly sections or moments (venue permitting)

    • Support light content creation (photos/short clips) with the Media Team

    • Maintain pet safety and etiquette (leash control, respecting allergies/comfort)

    Good fit if you are

    • A responsible pet owner with a calm, well-socialized pet

    • Comfortable participating in light community content

    Time commitment

    • 1–2 short appearances during Vappu Olympics

  • What you’ll do
    Turn the energy of Vappu into stories that gives the FINE community an insight into the Vappu Olympics. You’ll write weekly articles that capture moments, student voices, and behind-the-scenes learning.

    Responsibilities

    • Publish 1 article per week (April–July)

    • Capture quotes, highlights, and key moments from events

    • Collaborate with editors/marketing for feedback and polish

    Good fit if you are

    • Interested in writing, storytelling, journalism, or marketing

    • Consistent and comfortable meeting weekly deadlines

    Time commitment

    • ~3–5 hours per week (writing + editing)

Local Chapter Roles & Responsibilities

FINE Ecosystem will be expanding to have a local section at each university. Here you can explore the roles that will be available.

  • Role purpose
    Heads of local section operations. Own the section’s health, team performance, and alignment with the national board.

    Core responsibilities

    • Lead the local section team 

    • Build the section strategy (monthly goals + upcoming priorities)

    • Organize team trainings with FINE Management (event flow, ticketing, safety, tone, SOP updates)

    • Liaison between the national board and local chapter (updates both ways)

    • Help make local decisions that affect reputation, safety, or partner relationships

    Key deliverables

    • Weekly section update (membership + events + wins + challenges)

    • Monthly plan (events calendar + recruiting goals + training goals)

    • Ensures SOP compliance: ticketing, schedule, sign-in/out, recap documentation

    Success metrics

    • Monthly membership growth

    • Events executed on schedule

  • Role purpose
    Plan and execute section-specific events that build community and drive membership.

    Core responsibilities

    • Plan section events (at least 1–2 per month or as defined by national board)

    • Run event operations:

      • staffing plan

      • venue readiness

      • opening flow

      • schedule adherence (what’s posted is what happens)

    Key deliverables

    • Event plan per event (date/time/location, staffing, supplies checklist)

    • Post-event recap + improvement notes

    • Staffing roster (who is lead/support/extra)

    Success metrics

    • Attendance + first-time guest experience (welcomed, ticketed, thanked)

    • Event starts on time and follows schedule

  • Role purpose
    Owns the day-to-day community communication and onboarding flow for the section.

    Core responsibilities

    • Manage local community comms:

      • WhatsApp group links + basic moderation

      • responses to questions (where/when/how to join)

    • Support ticketing flow and member onboarding through Kide.app (as assigned by section leads)

    • Promote section presence during:

      • orientation weeks

      • freshman activities

      • university fairs and intro events

    • Welcome-first culture: make sure new people feel included and know what’s happening

    Key deliverables

    • Weekly community post (what’s happening this week + how to join)

    • Onboarding script/checklist for newcomers (welcome message + links + “what to expect”)

    Success metrics

    • WhatsApp group chat  engagement

    • New members feel welcomed and informed

    • Fewer repetitive questions (good clarity and pinned info)

  • Role purpose
    Build collaborations that increase section reach, venues, and value.

    Core responsibilities

    • Outreach to:

      • student orgs

      • departments/program groups

      • local businesses near campus

    • Build collaborations that help events run better or reach more students

    • Share partner proposal with Section Leads (and national board if needed)

    Key deliverables

    • Partnership pipeline tracker (contacted → active)

    • Collaboration plan per partner (what we do + what they do + promo expectations)

    Success metrics

    • Number of active collaborations

    • Partnerships lead to measurable attendance or membership gains

  • Role purpose
    Own patch distribution and patch-related engagement for the section.

    Core responsibilities

    • Maintain patch inventory (counts, movement)

    • Track:

      • patches given away

      • patches sold

    • Request restocks when low

    • Collect ideas for new patch designs and submit to Student Stitches leadership

    Key deliverables

    • Monthly inventory report (start count, distributed, sold, end count)

    • Patch movement summary after each event/checkpoint

    Success metrics

    • Accurate inventory and tracking

    • Patch distribution supports membership and engagement goals

  • Role purpose
    Own section-level equipment readiness and accountability.

    Core responsibilities

    • Track equipment availability and condition (speaker, games, etc.)

    • Manage check-out / return process (who has what, when it returns)

    • Ensure equipment is event-ready (charged/clean/complete sets)

    Key deliverables

    • Equipment log (simple: item, holder, date out, expected return, condition)

    • Post-event equipment check

    Success metrics

    • Fewer missing/damaged items

    • Faster setup and smooth events

  • Role purpose
    Execute local marketing in alignment with national brand standards.

    Core responsibilities

    • Promote section events with consistent brand voice and visuals

    • Coordinate with national marketing direction (templates + rules)

    • Capture local content opportunities (event highlights, student voice, campus vibe)

    • Ensure posts go out on time (before-event, day-of, after-event)

    Key deliverables

    • Weekly promo plan (what’s posted and when)

    • Simple event promo pack (poster/story/caption)

    • Post-event recap content (photos/videos)

    Success metrics

    • Local growth in reach, follows, and event turnout

    • Consistent brand presentation
